Discovered while playing music for the patients, that They Might Be Giants made a children’s record. (two actually)
Is it weird that I want to get them? I would think I would have a hard time telling them, and there normal albums apart.

What do you get when the singer/ guitarist for Sleater-Kinney, and the drummer from the punk band Trenchmouth get together? You get a comedy show about a city in Oregon! (I’m very excited about Portlandia coming back tonight)
Maybe I’m going crazy.
I know it’s not going to make me very popular, and I only mention it because it came up twice this week, but as far as one of the biggest music rivalries of my generation, I have always felt that Prince was a better musician than Michael Jackson.

And then sell me a ticket to his next movie. I got a bit riled up when I heard they were making an English remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I mean come on, Its a fantastic movie, so what if folks here don’t want to read subtitles, its there loss. Remakes of GOOD movies are never better, well except for The Thing, and Let me in, The Fly, The Departed, Cape Fear, The Man Who Knew Too Much, The Thomas Crown Affair, like a million remakes of Akira Kurosawa’s films from Star Wars to A Bugs Life, Ocean’s 11… well ignore all that.
MY point was that David Fincher can make a damn good trailer (or pay someone to cut one). Great imagery + get Trent Reznor to get a cool artist to do an amazing cover. (Belgian girls’ choir Scala doing Creep in The Social Network trailer and Karen O’s Immigrant song in this one) Pavlovian Bell rung, I’m sold. I’m even looking forward to seeing Daniel “I just sucked a lemon” Craigs face up there. Yikes!

Over the rainbow
The first sign that something was amiss was the lawn chair flying past my window, I live on the third floor.
I’m use to rain, and wind, and the power going out so I wasn’t that concerned when all 3 happened. I was going room to room closing the windows and when I got to the kitchen I saw the chair doing its Dorothy Gale impression. 30 seconds later I got a text message “look out, tornado“.
